Joaquín Razetto is one of the best sailors in Peru’s sailing history. On two occasions he has been awarded with “Laureles Deportivos del Perú”, the country’s government's biggest distinction to an athlete for achieving a World Championship title. His success started at a young age as he conquered important national and international events. In 1999 he won the Optimist Team Racing World Championship in Martinique, France. He moved on to sail Lasers and attended 3 South American championships and became Laser 4.7 southamerican champion in 2005. After some years of sailing the Laser he stepped on the J24, a boat that he has been sailing for many years. He is an 8-time J24 Peruvian national champion over the years (06,08,11,12,13,17,18,19), and has participated in four World championships and two South American championships. In 2011, he and his J24 crew became vice world champions in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was part of the SSL Team that lead Peru to its qualification to the SSL Gold Cup. “Joaquín has proven to be a great sailor and person on and off the water.
