Florencia was born and raised in Lima, Peru. She started sailing at eight years old on a sailboat called Optimist. Since then, Florencia has represented her club (Club Regatas Lima) and home country (Peru) in multiple national and international championships. In 2017, she became the first woman to win an Optimist South American Championship in Paraguay. The year after (2018), she led the Peruvian national team and championed again in the Team Race Championship. After closing a successful cycle on the Optimist, together with one of her former Optimist colleagues, she started sailing a new boat called Nacra 15. Following Nacra 15, she started competing in the most sailed boat globally, the ILCA, which she continues practicing until this day. In 2021, Florencia won the Youth Sailing World Championship in ILCA 6. Nowadays, she continues training and competing to accomplish her goals.
