Started sailing on an Optimist at the age of 13. He then moved his way through the Lightning, Laser, J/24, J/70, and big boats. He has conquered 16 national championships and a vice world title on the J/24 World Championship in 2011. Has represented Peru in several international events such as World Championships, and 3 times at the Panamerican Games. He has also been an Optimist coach for 8 years
