The first ranked Peruvian on the SSL rankings. He has also been awarded the (Laureles Deportivos del Perú” on one occasion for winning the 2016 and 2017 Sunfish World Championship in Cartagena, Colombia, and New Jersey, USA. He started sailing an Optimist at the age of six. In 2009 he won the individual and Team Racing Optimist South American Championship; it was the first of his three Optimist Team Racing South American Titles. In 2009 and 2011 he finished 2nd at the Optimist Team Racing World Championship. In 2015 he was part of the Peruvian Panamerican Games team. Besides his two Sunfish world championships, he has a 2nd, a 3rd, and a youth world championship title in that class. In 2012 when he was 15 years old, he competed in the Laser class South American Championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and achieved a 2nd place overall and 1st U18 in the 4.7 class.
